Matthew Vines: "Discussion" Is The Way By Which Heretics And Sexually Immoral Attack the Truth and Seek To Change Minds

Jud 1:4 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

The New York Times reports:

"LA MIRADA, Calif. — As a young, gay Christian activist, Matthew Vines considered it a victory just to get into a room at a conservative Christian university here with four influential evangelicals who disagreed with him over what the Bible says about homosexuality."

So just how do they sneak in among you as Jude, Paul, and Peter warned about? By asking to have a little chat over coffee and affirm we're all Christians with just some misunderstandings and an appeal to "grace". 

There should be NO discussion on sodomy. Scripture is clear on sodomy, church discipline, and the role of the local church. By "considering" they've already given the argument validity, and the fear of man is very clearly evident by the likes of Focus On The "Family". That's how the PCUSA did it too, btw.  They consider a different view other than the biblical one, discuss it, vote on it, then toss the Bible. Just like the Ancient Serpent did with Eve.

The night before, at a packed meeting in Culver City for supporters of his organization, the Reformation Project, he explained that the first step in changing churches would be to identify the “silent sympathizers” and encourage them to speak up."

The best, underhanded way the devil gets his foot into the churches and "Christian" schools is by way of "discussion". Over and over and over I've seen "solid" Christian celebrity leaders who once took a dogmatic stand on the truth against a heretic, only to meet with him or her and suddenly do a 180. Matthew Vines, the young, arrogant heretic knows that is all he needs: an hour of discussions with these people and he's got 'em.

Let's be clear: sodomy is not a new issue to the Christian church. There's nothing to figure out. There's nothing to wring our hands over. There's nothing to discuss nor consider, IF you stick with Scripture alone.The absolute idiocy of this new generation is that they think this is the first time sodomy, marriage, and slavery have ever been an issue. That just goes to show they are ignoramuses when it comes to Scripture and history. Trying to reinvent the wheel, they're already off the road and headed off the cliff.

Vines and these men demonstrate the absolute foolishness and condemned thinking as they sit in judgment of God's Word and truth while they speak Post-Modern foolish garbage:

As a child, Mr. Kaltenbach attended a gay rights march with his mother, and he recalls protesters yelling that God condemned the marchers and throwing urine on them. (His book, “Messy Grace,” part memoir and part advice for pastors on ministering to gays, will be published this year.) He says evangelicals should welcome gay people with “acceptance, but not approval.” Openly gay couples attend his church, he said, but are not allowed to serve on the leadership board.At Biola, Mr. Kaltenbach sat in a club chair directly across from Mr. Vines. To Mr. Vines’s right was Frank Sontag, a Christian radio host wearing jeans and cowboy boots, who said he would not pass judgment on gay people because he, too, was a sinner.
They all agreed that, in the Bible, God did not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because of sodomy, but because the residents were guilty of arrogance and greed. But other passages were not so easily dismissed.

Acceptance IS approval. To claim it is not is to redefine terms and play word games. That's an underhanded, sinful and manipulative way to accept such heinous sin, as well as reject church discipline. Sexual sin like sodomy and pedophilia is damnable sin and worthy of being ex-communicated from the local church as 1 Cor. 5 shows.

For these men to sit and judge Scripture and lie about why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah is absolutely heinous and demonic. God already told us why:

Jude 1:7  just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

Mat 11:24  But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you."

Rom 1:23  and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

Rom 1:24  Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves,

Rom 1:25  because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

Rom 1:26  For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;

Rom 1:27  and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. 

Rom 1:32  Though they know God's decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. 

1Co 6:9  Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10  nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

Psa 26:4 I do not sit with deceitful men, Nor will I go with pretenders.

Eph 4:17  Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. 

Eph 4:18  They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. 

Eph 4:19  They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. 

Eph 4:20  But that is not the way you learned Christ!—

Eph 4:21  assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, 

Eph 4:22  to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 

Eph 4:23  and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 

Eph 4:24  and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. 

The following excerpt is from "Under Constraint," a sermon preached Sunday morning 28 April 1878 at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London:

I have not much patience with a certain class of Christians nowadays who will hear anybody preach so long as they can say, "He is very clever, a fine preacher, a man of genius, a born orator." Is cleverness to make false doctrine palatable? Why, sirs, to me the ability of a man who preaches error is my sorrow rather than my admiration.

I cannot endure false doctrine, however neatly it may be put before me. Would you have me eat poisoned meat because the dish is of the choicest ware? It makes me indignant when I hear another gospel put before the people with enticing words, by men who would fain make merchandise of souls; and I marvel at those who have soft words for such deceivers.

There are some with whom we should have no fellowship, nay, not so much as to eat bread; for though this conduct looks stern and hard, it is after the mind of Christ, for the apostle spake by inspiration when he said, "If we or an angel from heaven preach to you any other gospel than that ye have received, let him be accursed."

According to modern efficiency he ought to have said, "Let him be kindly spoken with in private, but pray make no stir. No doubt the thought was original, and we must not question his liberty. Doubtless, he believes the same as we do, only there is some little difference as to terms."

This is treason to Christ, treachery to truth, and cruelty to souls. If we love our Lord we shall keep his words, and stand fast in the faith,coming out from among the false teachers; nor is this inconsistent with charity, for the truest love to those who err is not to fraternise with them in their error, but to be faithful to Jesus in all things.
