Being "Nice" Is Being Cowardly: warn unbelievers of the peril of eternal torment

Biblical Christ Research Institute: Behind every compromise is cowardice and the Head of the Church (The Lord Jesus Christ) has made it emphatically clear that "... the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (Rev. 21:8) Unpopular in a postmodern culture and compromising church, yet these are realities that we must proclaim. Will it be said of us that we were 'nice', or that we were faithful? The faithful pleads, in boldness, biblical love and truth, commissioned by the Lord. The 'nice' pleads with the faithful to compromise. If we are to proclaim the crucified and risen Lamb, we must, too, proclaim repentance from the sin that keep sinners from fleeing to Him. Generalities about 'the Gospel' aside, we must specifically warn them that eternal torment is theres if they persist in rebellion against God in Christ.

End quote.

Indeed the warning of eternal torment is the reality of those who refuse to bow to the Lord Jesus Christ. Eternal punishment IS part of the Gospel and to reject it is to not only reject the Gospel but also the Author of that Gospel. To reject eternal torment is to impugn the character and justice of the Almighty Judge of all people. To be a coward, as Doron Gladden of the Biblical Christ Research Institute says, in proclaiming such truth to those who hold to such error, is to dishonor Christ Jesus, His Gospel, and is hatred for the very souls one is trying to ease.
