Pope Offers Indulgences to Twitter Followers

The pope is to offer indulgences to his Twitter followers.  Indulgences  are bought by the parishioner (either through purchase with money (historically) or by works, and granted by the RCC for the dealing of sin. It denies the absolute and sole payment for our sins by Jesus Christ on the Cross (Who said, "It is finished!" when the payment was fully made).

According to the Roman Catholic website, New Advent:

"The most important distinction, however, is that between plenary indulgences and partial. By a plenary indulgence is meant the remission of the entire temporal punishment due to sin so that no further expiation is required in Purgatory. A partial indulgence commutes only a certain portion of the penalty; and this portion is determined in accordance with the penitential discipline of the early Church. To say that an indulgence of so many days or years is granted means that it cancels an amount of purgatorial punishment equivalent to that which would have been remitted, in the sight of God, by the performance of so many days or years of the ancient canonical penance. Here, evidently, the reckoning makes no claim to absolute exactness; it has only a relative value."

The doctrines of total depravity and justification Scripture teaches, show that the Roman Catholic indulgences are anti-Christ. It is entirely unholy, and treats that which is holy, the sufficiency of Christ, as unholy, unworthy, unsatisfactory, and insufficient. It assaults what God has declared as absolutely finished and fully satisfactory against His holy wrath. There is no such thing as purgatory; men are all totally depraved and thus cannot merit a place in Heaven. That's why we need the righteousness of Christ applied to us. Rome denies both.

Heb 9:22  And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Heb 9:23  Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Heb 9:24  For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;
Heb 9:25  nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the holy place year by year with blood that is not his own.
Heb 9:26  Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
Heb 9:27  And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,
Heb 9:28  so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.

The anti-biblical Roman doctrine and practice of indulgences is one way it has historically kept control over its parishioners, as well as getting rich, while the myriads of souls in the RCC go to hell in the process.

The "Reformation" didn't change this aspect of Rome. It continues today as it did then, with minimal, inconsequential changes to make it more palatable.
