Chicago Thuggery in the IRS

Now America knows that the Obama administration did the same thing, after the IRS apologized today for inappropriately targeting and attacking conservative political groups during the 2012 election season.
The confirmation came from Lois Lerner, chief of the unit that oversees tax-exempt organizations across the country.
She blew out of the water those who charge that conservatives are “conspiracy” nuts on the issue of the IRS with her confirmation that groups that included the words “tea party” or “patriot” in their applications were put in a political bull’s-eye....

Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., told WND, the admission from the Obama administration is stunning... She questioned directly whether that means, since the IRS also is the chief enforcer of Obamacare requirements, whether “the IRS will deny or delay access to health care” for conservatives.
End quote. ~WND

**UPDATE**

White House spokesperson Jay Carney is now blaming Bush for the IRS thuggery tactics. (I'm amazed at the sovereign power ole W. Bush seems to have.)

Flashback:

In 2009 Obama "joked" about auditing the ASU president and their board of regents. Its not funny. His IRS has done  it with others, as BuzzFeed reminds us.

***UDATE***

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Senior Internal Revenue Service officials knew agents were targeting tea party groups as early as 2011, according to a draft of an inspector general's report obtained by The Associated Press that seemingly contradicts public statements by the IRS commissioner.

Among the other revelations, on Aug. 4, 2011, staffers in the IRS' Rulings and Agreements office "held a meeting with chief counsel so that everyone would have the latest information on the issue."
On Jan, 25, 2012, the criteria for flagging suspect groups was changed to, "political action type organizations involved in limiting/expanding Government, educating on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, social economic reform/movement," the report says.
