RCC: Example of Greed Yet Points The Finger At Others

News:

Quote:

Today Benedict XVI issued his third encyclical focusing on the economy. It is widely seen as directed at G-8 leaders gathering in Italy this week.

Economy and finance, as instruments, can be used badly when those at the helm are motivated by purely selfish ends....

Right intention, transparency, and the search for positive results are mutually compatible and must never be detached from one another. If love is wise, it can find ways of working in accordance with provident and just expediency, as is illustrated in a significant way by much of the experience of credit unions.

End quote.

The photo that accompanies this piece is telling: two gold things on his desk, as an enormous painting hangs behind him.

Let's remember the selfishness of Rome:

The Vatican.

Need I say more?

Do you know what is in the palace? Priceless artifcats, several popemobiles. Gold. Silk. Marble.

Consider the transportation used by the Vatican Prophet: first class all the way.

Consider his dress: designer shoes and sunglasses; silk, jewels, gold, rubies.

Consider the Vatican Prophet's security: his own Swiss guard.

Consider Vatican City: it has its own bank.

Consider Vatican City issues its own coins.

Consider the Roman Catholic Church charges for Mass and Mass cards; prayer candles (no prayers can be offered without lighting a candle which one must purchase), indulgences, etc.

Now consider that the RCC has millions of dirt-poor parishoners worldwide, living in sqwaler conditions, their own dying every day as their surviving families try to come up with enough money for Mass so that their loved one doesn't spend eternity in "purgatory".

And the Vatican prophet dares to talk to the G8 about being selfish?? He ought to look in the mirror and sell all he has (Peter the Apostle had no silver or gold, but Christ alone) and help out a few million of their own parishoners before they point fingers at others.

Did you mention that the Vatican IS it's own gov't?
Yes - it sure is rich ... Jesus did say - the poor you will ALWAYS have with you - maybe that's his excuse?

True, forgot about that. =) Reminds me of how Jesus said that His kingdom is not of this world...and therefore we do not fight with this world's weapons...or really even think like the world or value the world's ways.
